Flat roofs, apart from being aesthetically acceptable and very usable as an additional surface, are sometimes a real challenge when it comes to waterproofing. When designing flat roofs, quality materials are often not used and not enough attention is paid to them, which results in the cracking of the waterproofing and the creation of water passages, as well as frequent repairs. Flat roofs are increasingly used as an additional usable area such as a parking lot, recreation area or terrace. For this reason, quality insulation and protection against water penetration is extremely important.

STEAM DAMERS
Vapor barriers will prevent the penetration of moisture into the thermal insulation and the flow of air through the thermally insulated roof structure. We distinguish between self-adhesive and welded bitumen vapor barriers. Self-adhesive vapor barriers - self-adhesive installation, they represent a superior solution in the form of a vapor barrier (Sd value over 1500 m). Welded bituminous vapor barriers – superior solutions for both vapor barrier and temporary waterproofing. These are classic elastomer bitumen stickers with an aluminum and PES insert that represent absolute vapor barriers (Sd value over 1500 m). BITUMEN ROOF HYDROISOLATION MEMBRANES
There are a variety of bituminous HI membranes, and they are often used as a superior solution for flat roof waterproofing. Most often, they are made in two layers, with full surface welding for the base. There are many levels of quality, but it is always a rule to install the final plastomer or elasto-plastomer adhesive with a protective coating as the last layer. In addition to welded stickers that can only be installed on concrete substrates, a self-adhesive bitumen system can also be installed so that the first layer of waterproofing is installed self-adhesively over thermal insulation (XPS / EPS / PIR).
SYNTHETIC ROOF HYDROISOLATION MEMBRANE
These systems represent the most common solution for the waterproofing of flat roofs of multi-apartment buildings, family houses, luxury villas and even production and storage halls. There are various technologies, but the two most well-known on our market are PVC P i TPO (FPO) technologies. They differ from bituminous plasters in that they are installed by free laying and welding of mutual joints. In addition to technology, they also differ in thickness (from 1,2 mm to 2,0 mm) and in the quality of the insole (glass fabric, PES mesh...). They can be performed directly over all types of thermal insulation and are UV stable and durable for a period of over 10 to 25 years. LIQUID POLYURETHANE WATERPROOFING MEMBRANES
PU liquid membranes represent a high-quality solution for the waterproofing of all flat passable and non-passable roofs, after drying they turn into a single-layer seamless membrane bonded to the substrate. In addition to being UV stable and can remain as the last layer on a flat roof, they can also be an excellent base for the installation of cladding, whether it is decking or ceramic on pads, whether it is glued ceramic. PU membranes can be made in various thicknesses, depending on project requirements, and there are also various additional products that increase quality, durability, stability, etc.
Flat roofs are very usable and are an attractive solution during construction, but they require adequate and high-quality waterproofing.
